This is a simple, and completely unofficial, inventory of many cool Silverlight applications that use Silverlight Streaming by Windows Live. It makes up a long post, but I hope it will be worth your while. Check them out and let me know if you have one that you believe should also be called out in this hall of fame. If anything, look at the last app in this showcase gallery.
Embedding a video in a blog post. This is a memorable SteveB moment that the IE team embedded to emphasize a point on their team blog.
Same concept. This time with the Silverlight logo and a detailed "how to" for the iframe invocation syntax.
Adventure Works Resorts. The latest QuickApp on the Windows Live Developer portal. Very nice implementation of how to design a web site full of Silverlight apps, controls, bells and whistles, while leveraging the Silverlight Streaming service by Windows Live to handle all the heavy duty content submitted by the users of the community web site.
Contoso University. The second QuickApp to be added to the Windows Live Developer portal. Another great example of how to put together very rich features dealing with rich media content in a simple way.
Contoso Bicycle Club. The first QuickApp using Silverlight Streaming to make its appearance on the Windows Live Developer portal. What is really neat is the Bike Cam feature that ties together the GPS data to the Virtual Earth map but also to the video feed which contains the time markers that sync the video to the pins on the map. Sleek!!
Philips Ambilight Campaign. A nice implementation of a local Silverlight player integrated with the web page hosting it, that fetches the video content from Silverlight Streaming.
Partner-TV. A blog with lots and lots of video interviews all hosted on Silverlight Streaming as their own Silverlight application (video content + player).
Halo 3 video trailers. One of the high profile, high visibility, high traffic applications currently running on top of the Silverlight Streaming service. I already blogged about it, enough said, but you must absolutely go to that page and hit the full screen view on the Combat 1 live action sequence.
Halo 3 interactive game manual. I also blogged about this application when it was launched. Worth checking out both from the technology standpoint and as a gamer/user of the online guide.
QuikSilver Premium site coverage of the Pro France surfing event. Saving best for last! This is a superb site with a very original player that mixes "premium" content uploaded to Silverlight Streaming by the site owners/event organizers on one hand, and "user generated content" uploaded to Silverlight Streaming by anybody who was there to participate in or witness and enjoy the event on the other hand. Cool music background, every run of every leg, every surfer on every wave, all sliced and diced and uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Picture in picture, scoring overlay, competitor metadata, competition information, etc. it is all integrated in this super sleek app. A must see.
Defi Wind Gruissan 2007. For your greatest enjoyment, especially if you double-up as a windsurfing fan as well as a Silverlight Developer or Web Designer.
It's a very cool Silverlight Streaming application showing what kind of Silverlight player and UI one can create to provide high quality rich content easily on the web. It allows to toggle between standard resolution and full screen. The animated video picker is pretty slick. The player controls offer all the basic player functions and are nicely integrated with the rest of the UI. And of course the content itself is worth watching, while listening to the good musical background.

Not surprisingly, the people behind this application are the same team who created the Quiksilver Pro France site and application.
That's all folks, for today anyway, thanks for reading this far!
Now it's your turn...
