Windows Live Contacts Control Beta v0.3

Change History

April 27: 2 new fields have been added to the control: spacesrssurl and spacesrsscontent. These fields make it possible to get either the URL of the contact's Spaces RSS feed,  or the actual Spaces RSS feed content. This allows social blog aggregation scenarios. To see the results, see Try the Windows Live Contacts Control - List View.

March 16: A new view has been added to the control: TileList. This view funtions the same as the Tile view, but displays contacts, with pictures and names, in a list rather than in the matrix view seen in the graphic to the right. To see the TileList view, sign into the control in the right rail of this page.

Feb 16: The Windows Live Contacts control was updated today to support six new languages: Dutch, German, Italian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. These languages are in addition to the previously supported English, French, and Japanese. See the Getting Started and API sections for details.

Feb  8, 2007: The Windows Live Contacts Control has been updated with a popup blocker bug fix. When web sites wrote information into Windows Live Contacts, the popup blocker was getting triggered and in some cases inhibited the capability to update Windows Live Contacts. This issue has now been resolved.

Jan 17, 2007: The Windows Live Contacts Control now has a new Tile View that allows users of a Web site to see the online presence of their contacts and initiate a messenger session. The hosting Web site can pre-define a message to populate the Messenger window. (The original functionality is referred to as the List View.)

Dec 11, 2006: The Windows Live Contacts Control v0.2 has been updated to allow web sites to write  information into Windows Live Contacts. See the Getting Started and API sections for details.

Dec 1, 2006: The Windows Live Contacts Control v0.2 has been updated to support localized versions. To date, French, Japanese, and English are supported. We will be supporting more languages in the future. See the Getting Started and API sections for details.

Oct 9, 2006:  v0.2 of the Windows Live Contacts control replaces the previous version, formerly known as the Windows Live Contacts Gadget (beta), but henceforth referred to as v0.1. For legacy purposes, you can find information about this previous version here. Version 0.1 is now deprecated and will not be supported.
