Live Framework SDK and Tools

The Live Framework Software Development Kit (SDK) includes API kits, documentation, tools, and code samples to help you start building applications using Live Services.

The Live Framework Tools for Visual Studio makes it easier to create, edit, build, and debug Mesh Applications from within Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer Express Edition 2008.

Currently the Live Framework SDK and Tools are in a limited Community Technical Preview. If you currently are a part of the CTP and have redeemed your token, you can download the SDK here.

While space is limited, you can request access to the CTP through our Microsoft Connect site. To allow you to get a deeper understanding of the Live Framework, we have published the developer documentation online.

The SDK includes the following content:

Live Framework Toolkits: A set of libraries which can be used to program using the Live Framework from various platforms and programming languages. The following toolkits ship in the Live Framework SDK:

  • .NET Toolkit for Live Framework: A programming library for use with the .NET Framework
  • Silverlight Toolkit for Live Framework: A managed code programming library for use with Silverlight
  • JavaScript Toolkit for Live Framework: A programming library for use with JavaScript
